昨年末に挑戦した、初めての海外建築コンペ。

登録料の送金の仕方、Fedxによる配送、送り状、
コンペ概要の把握、翻訳、、トラブル？など、
不安だらけで、A1のプレゼンパネル×2枚と
1/50の建築模型を万全の梱包で締め切り直前に
到着するように送り出したイギリスのコンペでした。

今年、皆さんにご挨拶させていただいた
年賀状の中にもそのドローイングが
小さく描かれていたとおもいます。（そう、それです。）

今年になってから、何回かRIBA(王立英国建築家協会)から
メールがあり、その度に知人である美術家：千葉有造氏に
翻訳をお願いしていたので（プレゼンの翻訳も含め）、
今回の結果も含め、何回かに分けてエピソードを。。

とりあえず大雑把には、こんなコンペ概要でした。

’Make me a home competition’

イギリス、ストックトンオンティーズの川沿いに広がる約23haの敷地に住宅、オフィス、ショップ、ホテル、レジャー施設、ダラム大学の新施設などを新たに建設する計画がある。その中にある住居区に最終的に250世帯が暮らすため住宅のデザイン決定するための実施コンペ

世界11カ国からの応募があり、要項を満たしたものが112案あったそうです。
ファイナルに選ばれたのはその中の6名、他に面白かった等の優秀案が14名
選出され、6名+14名=20名が来週1/23〜1/27までストックトンでエキシビジョンが
先攻して行われます。

今回はファイナリストの6名には残れませんでしたが、

僕の案はその中の20名の一人として選ばれました！

審査員の中には尊敬している建築家の一人でもある
デイビッド.アジャイ氏にもジャッジしていただき、
とても光栄です。

ストックトンも含め、2/2〜2/23日までは
マンチェスターにあるキューブギャラリーでも
僕のプレゼンの展示が行われます。

今週には英国の建築雑誌'BD magazin'にもその内容が掲載される
ようなので、機会があれば是非。。

この期間にイングランド方面に行くひとは、是非観て来てください。
（って行ける人なんて、ほとんどいないか。。）

という事で、送料4〜5万もかかっちゃいましたが、
世界の壁はまだまだずっと高いです。

Make me a Show home!
An exclusive opportunity to view over 100 competition housing model entries from the Make me a home! Urban Splash and RIBA Competition

In September 2008, on behalf of Urban Splash and Muse Developments, the RIBA launched an international open design competition "Make me a Home" challenging architects to shape the future of family housing.†

The competition invited architects to raise the bar and deliver a new housing typology for Northshore, a Åí300m redevelopment scheme in Stockton-on-Tees.†It is planned that 250 family homes will eventually stand at the site, and the partners were looking for creativity and a concept which will break the mould.†The 23 hectare Northshore scheme, which is being delivered with Tees Valley Regeneration and HCA will transform Stockton with an additional 65,000 sq metres of offices and commercial space, and 900 residential units.†

The competition received an outstanding response with 112 entries received from 11 different countries around the world.†

The competitions finalists will be announced in BD Magazine on Friday 23rd January.†The top 20 shortlisted models, including the chosen 6 finalists, will be on display at a public consultation from Friday 23rd January until Tuesday 27th January at the Shambles, High Street, Stockton-on-Tees.

On exhibition at the CUBE gallery from the 24th January are the remaining entries which each comprise two A1 boards and a working model, which will then be joined on the 31st January by the 20 shortlisted entries.†
